Why we need Senator on Sabah Health Affairs
It does not matter who sit at the seat, what matter is the ‘will’ and ‘proactive approach’ by the senator to assemble a team of expert to handle Sabah Health Affairs . I have been to high and low position in government services( with never ending bureaucracy, lack of priority on urgent disease management etc), to the dept and width of Sabah’s crocker range to seek-and-treat our beloved rural folks.
The irony is that due to local situation and local adaptation, some practices can lead to higher risk of illness. For example. The way to preserve protein or meat is by salting or fermentation. Preserved meat such as this if taken at small quantity and spaced out occasionally is ok . But if taken on a long term basis the risk of developing cancer is high.

Modern scientific observation that there is linear correlation with nasopharyngeal carcinoma or in lay man term, ” kanser tekak, mulut, hidung yang jahat”. Often time sufferer had no idea what happen and totally out of tertiary hospital care, not to mention even lack of lowest strata of health service, the ill equipped Klinik Desa.
I have been on a full mission to educate the public on various cancer occurrence in Sabah and practical ways to prevent them. One of the many platform of NGO is Sabah Cancer Society. The momentum need to be continued on a more systematic manners using government facilities paid for by tax payers .
